Blue Ridge Mazda, the leading Kansas City Mazda dealer, is excited to announce that the 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata was recently named to Car and Driver’s 10-Best Cars List. Winning the award this year marks the seventh year in a row, 13th overall, that the MX-5 Miata has won since its’ debut. The Miata does a great job of making things simple enough for the everyday driver, yet having the specs that even a race car enthusiast can appreciate.
President & CEO of Mazda’s North American Operations, MNAO, Jim O’Sullivan praised the Miata for several reasons including, “Affordable, attainable, agile and attractive – the MX-5 Miata is as balanced a sports car as they come. A world record holder as both the most popular two-seat roadster ever produced and as the most raced nameplate, the MX-5 sets the bar high on sports car performance and driving pleasure.” The people of Car and Driver also had nothing but good things to say about the MX-5 saying that, “here was an affordable roadster without drawback, a compact slingshot more fun than many cars costing twice as much.”
The MX-5 made its’ debut on the 10-Best List back in 1990, the Miata’s first year, and has won the award multiple times since then. The MX-5, which is currently in its’ third-generation, is powered by an MZR 2.0-liter engine and pumps out 167 horsepower.
