Blue Ridge Mazda, your Lees Summit Mazda dealer, wants to tell our loyal following that the Mazda2 may not be your first choice when looking for a performance vehicle, until now. Mazda has rolled into this year’s SEMA show with a brand-new concept, the Turbo2.
The Turbo2 will come equipped with a direct-injection 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, who knew that you could outfit this small hatchback with 263 horsepower accompanied with 280 pound-feet of torque. The one thing that sticks out the most is this vehicle was already tiny, but the Turbo2 was slimmed down even more to a slender 2,300 pounds. This makes it easy for this concept to “Zoom Zoom” since it features Mazda’s biggest forced-induction 4-cylinder engine.
The Turbo2 concept comes outfitted with a whole slew of features that normal Mazda vehicles don’t have. The Turbo2 concept has a set of Brembo brakes, these top of the line brakes will guarantee a stop when you need it most. The brakes weren’t the only thing that got a makeover, the suspension also received a fair share of attention as well by adding some HR coilovers, Corksport sway bars in both the front and rear and Yokohama rubber to help keep the tiny hatch glued to the track.
This car may seem a bit over the top and more of a showcar than anything, that’s cause it is! This new Turbo2 was built by Autobarn to use in One Lap of America. If this model really tripped your trigger no need to fret, the people at Autobarn are selling models for $95,000.
If that may be a little out of your price range, come on down to Blue Ridge Mazda, your Mazda dealer in Lees Summit, Missouri for a look at our wide selection of both new and used cars in Lees Summit.
